| Ladies wedding rings |
Buying wedding rings can just seem like another thing to tick off the list when planning a wedding but in reality, it is much more important than that. A wedding ring will be worn for life so it is important to invest the just amount of time into finding the right one.
Buying Wedding Rings
A major consideration is to decide if you want the ladies wedding ring to match the engagement perfectly or if you want them to be complements of each other. You then should decide if a plain or diamond set band is more your style. The ring should be made in the metal of your engagement ring, whether it be 18k white, gold or rose gold or platinum. Finally, you need to consider the shape of your engagement ring as if you want the wedding band to sit flush, you may need to have it shaped around the engagement ring.Diamond Set Wedding Bands
What is usually done when it comes to diamond set bands is that if your engagement ring's band is already diamond set, you simply match the two. If your engagement ring has a plain band, you can decide which style of diamond set suits best.- Pave Set- this is when the diamonds are set very closely together and gives the illusion of a continuous diamond surface
- Channel Set- this is when the diamonds are held in by a narrow 'channel' of metal which partially covers each side.
- Claw Set- this is when diamonds are most exposed as they are only held in by four claws across the band.
Choosing A Wedding Ring
There is no set way on what wedding band works best with your engagement ring but these are just some recommendations:
If your engagement ring is a real statement piece, it is sometimes nice to go for a plain band so as to keep the engagement ring the focus. This is applicable if you have say, a double halo or a multi-stone. For a solitaire, it is more up to you and there is no set match but when it comes to a side stone, it is, for the majority of the time, best to match the rings.
